We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday! This Christmas was extra special to us this year since it was our very first Christmas in the house. We were also lucky enough to have my parents and sister drive down to be with us, and for the first time we were able to see both our families on Christmas and all celebrate together!
Having family here and being together was more than enough to make the holiday great. We also received some pretty awesome gifts that are a great addition to the house.
I gave John this green bike key holder. We have been needing one of these, but when I found one with a green bike, I knew I had to get it for him!
I think it makes a great addition to our newly redone foyer.
My sister also got us this ridiculously awesome white ceramic deer head.
I think it’s suppose to be a reindeer and meant just for Christmas decor. However, I don’t care about that and it will be on display in our household all year long.
Speaking of ceramic animals….
John is an amazing husband and gave me the Jonathan Adler whale butter dish for Hanukkah. I feel crazy spoiled, and I am still giddy every time I look at it!
Our kitchen also received a new addition in the form of art. We really only have one open wall in the kitchen, and until now we have had this vintage style, metal Guiness sign hanging in that spot. We like the sign, but we wanted something a little more vibrant in the kitchen.
So I gave John this print from Boxing Bear Studio.
It’s a reproduction print of a piece called Steve Zissou’s “This Is the Life” by Jeff Mitchell. The Wes Anderson movie “The Life Aquatic” is one of John’s favorite films. So I thought it would nice for Steve Zissou to watch over him while he cooks.
Oh and because I am such a proud Mommy to my furry babies, I had to share. Here are Sketch and Harvey in their Virginia Tech bandanas that they got from my Mom.
Did you have a wonderful holiday spent with friends and family? Did you get anything that just made you giddy?
