On Sunday, I woke up feeling incredibly motivated and decided to take a stab at making some of our kitchen shelving look useful and beautiful. This is a side of our kitchen that has never been posted on this blog since until now. Hey, everyone has their good and bad sides for pictures right? Our kitchen was no different.
We have talked about the kitchen before and about how it's not our favorite room. It's a room we use everyday, but until we can save up enough moolah to replace the cabinets, tile, appliances, lighting, etc, we have to make small inexpensive changes that keep us happy. It was time to spruce up the plain white on white kitchen tile.
There isn't much about our kitchen that we really "love." It needs all new cabinets, appliances that match, some tile with a little more personality, and a whole different configuration. However we do love 2 things about it: the skylight(who doesn't love a skylight) and the pocket door.
Check out these new screens we installed! it's hard to tell through pictures, but replacing old screens can make a room look instantly cleaner. See how we handled the task in this post about installing new screens in our kitchen.
Since John and I have spent more time than usual shopping for anything and everything for the house, we have come across many interesting items and services. We are so excited about some of them that we have to share with you! So this is our first edition of our “Favorite Things.” It’s just like Oprah’s except we don’t have Oprah’s money. So if you like the swag, it’s up to y
We got rid of the cabinet doors in our kitchen because the laminant was coming off and they were sagging a bit. It was an easy job with a big payoff. This is just a temporary fix to keep us happy until the kitchen overhaul happens.
So this is it. We did it. We bought a house. We decided, as home buying virgins, to not use a realtor. Smart huh? It took about 3 months from offer to move in, and we were clueless the whole time, but we made it through. Were we crazy to go it alone? Maybe.
